During the Annual Fundraising Dinner held this past April, when Mother Maureen mentioned in her speech that the Home was in need of new chairs for the Auditorium, she never imagined her prayers would be answered so quickly.
Two saintly gentlemen and long-time friends of the Home stepped up after the Dinner and told Mother Maureen that they’d like to try to meet that challenge by raising and supplying the funds needed for the purchase of 110 new chairs!
Mr. Mario Cutone of M. Cutone Mushroom Co. and his wife Mary, and Mr. Michael Picariello of HVAC Engineering and his wife Linda went to work seeking the help of their close friends and neighbors and together managed to raise the funds needed to purchase 110 new, beautiful and comfy chairs, replacing old chairs that had been falling apart over recent years.
The Little Sisters and their Residents were so touched at how this group of friends and neighbors got together to give – and how deeply their actions have affected the Jeanne Jugan Residence in such a positive way. These chairs should last for many years to come and are already being well received by the Residents as they look forward to enjoying the summer’s upcoming events in secure comfort!
We thank Mr. and Mrs. Cutone, Mr. and Mrs. Picariello, and their many dear friends for this touching display of friendship and generosity and for making this very big wish come true!!
